Brian hard at work! He was sitting at the table working on homework and I thought the light from his laptop looked cool.  I'm not sure he even noticed me at first. :P

So if you're a fellow Midwesterner chances are you've seen a bit o' snow this past week.  If you're also a commuter like myself, then you know how fun it was.  Yea.  I'm not sure I should have driven those days that I did, but I made it in one piece, so I guess it's all okay!

Brian and I have rediscovered incense. The first stick we burned I was flooded with memories of my teenage bedroom...scarf covered lamps, Jewel on my boombox (yea I said it) and me scribbling away in my journal, often with my dog laying nearby. Lol. Man, my dad hated this stuff.  Partially from the smell, but mostly because he thought I was going to burn the house down. Haha!  No worries Dad, I am safely burning my incense away from any flammables.  :P

Another commute day, but the roads were nice and clear.  The air was crisp, the sun was shining and everything was covered in a layer of frosty snow.  Basically, it was gorgeous!  So, I didt my usual midddle-of-the-road-stop and snapped this picture. :)

Okay, this is another cheat.  I forgot to take a photo this day, this is actually from the 6th.  However, he looks super handsome, so I'm posting it as a place holder.  Out of 59 (well 60 counting below), I've only missed 2 days...not too bad!

YAY!  Met up with two my of favorite ladies in Des Moines and had a little photo, girls day.  It was lots of fun!  The rain stopped for a bit right before dinner (at Americana, yum!), so we set up the tripod and took some fun photos at the sculpture park.  I also did a little photoshoot for my friend Lindsay (middle), so I hope to post those sometime in the next week or so.

Here's the thing...I'm WAY behind on posting. I know - I've just been swamped at...well life.  However, I actually only missed my photo one day this whole time. I wish I wouldn't have, but oh well.  Since it's been so long since my last recap, I'm going to break it into two posts.  Enjoy :)

I had myself a little late night snack...a cheese quesadilla and a hot toddy.  Oooo, now I remember - this was the week of my man voice!  Seriously, I got this stupid insane cold and, along with it, a husky, deep voice. Ha!

I have this crazy deadline at work and I went in on this Saturday to try to get more stuff done.  On a whim Brian decide to come up with me (for those of you who don't know my job is in a town an hour away) and get some school work down at a local coffee shop.  Well, this joint has the best grilled cheese and tomato basil soup ever.  Ever.  If you find yourself in Algona, go to The Perky Parrot.  Trust me.

Cleaning day!  And it turned out to be kind of rainy weather wise.  Okay not kinda...our neighbour's backyard had a pond in it by evening time.  Then the next day I could have gone ice skating on it...but I didn't. Lol.

Confession time, this photo is actually from a few days later.  This is the day I forgot to take a photo - I took the one you are looking at on the 13th...Theo lusting over our Valentine's dinner.  So, yea...I missed a day, but I still wanted to give you something new to look at. :P

Shoes.  I started training again...and signed up for The Color Run in Des Moines this summer.  Yikes!  Wish me luck!!

Our dinner.  It was fantastic by the way.  Brian and I celebrated Valentines a night early, because my family was coming into town.  We had bought some lobster tails from trader joe's so we steamed them.  So yummy!  Oh, and Brian officially declared me as not picky.  Not just because of the lobster, but just in generally.  My family would describe me as the pickiest eater ever growing up, but Brian has gotten me to try so many things - and I'm glad for it.  Seriously, I would never have even looked at a lobster before.

Hey all!  It's been a little longer than I'd prefer BUT I have been keeping up with my photo-a-day.  On my phone, of course, but still.  The documentin' is going great! :)  I'm going to try to aim for 2 pictures on my Canon each week, yea...that seems doable.

I like sushi, especially sushi with eel and avocado.  YUM.  After enjoying some saki along with the sushi, we took in a show and some night life down in Des Moines.  It was lots of fun!
